The Third International Robotics Association Leaders’ Summit was Successfully Held

From October 17th to 20th, The Third International Robotics Association Leaders’ Summit was successfully held at Qingshan Lake Sci-Tech City in Hangzhou, China.

 

The summit was hosted by the International Alliance of Robotics Associations(IARA), IARA (Hangzhou) Robotics Co., Ltd. (IARA Headquarters operation company), the Zhejiang Robot Industry Association (ZRIA), the Hangzhou International Nongovernmental Science & Technology Exchange Center, and the Hangzhou Automation Technology Institute (HATI), and co-organized by the Hangzhou Digital Economy Federation, Zhejiang A&F University, Zhejiang Highway Technician College, the Zhejiang Association of Automation, the Hangzhou Association of Automation, and the Hangzhou Enterprise Sci-Tech Service Center.

Centering on the theme of “Openness, Innovation, Inclusiveness and Mutual Benefits”, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as organizational innovation in robotics and AI, industry – education integration, agricultural robotics, and ethical governance. The summit served as a platform to deliberate on major strategies for the development of the global robotics industry.

 

The Opening

The opening ceremony was chaired by Xu Chi, CEO of IARA Headquarters operation company, President of HATI, and President of Hangzhou Digital Economy Federation, presided over the proceedings. When robotics technology accelerates its transition from the laboratory to real-world applications, this summit was a showcase for innovation. On site, the first humanoid robot with precise operational skills for specialized tasks, NAVIAI Pioneer 2, unveiled by the Zhejiang Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, was demonstrated at the event. Leading innovative enterprises including Unitree Robotics, Westlake Robot, Xinjian Transmission, Wanma Sepcilized Cable, and Xizi Fuwode—also demonstrated their latest technological innovation.

 

 

The summit officially launched the initiative of International Robotics Industry-Education Integration Curriculum Planning and Textbook Compilation. This curriculum encompasses fundamental theories, practical technical skills, and application technologies, aiming to establish a pedagogical structure for the needs of global robotics education and industrial development.

International Robotics Industry-Education Integration Teacher Training Base was inaugurated in the event. Established through a joint mandate from IARA and the Qingshanhu Sci-Tech City Management Committee, the Base is collaboratively developed by HATI and Zhejiang Highway Technician College to address the challenge of integrating industry and education. The inauguration ceremony was formally conducted by Zhang Libin, Chairman of the IARA, Li Ping, Director of the Development Service Center of Qingshan Lake Sci-Tech City Management Committee, Che Jiong, President of Zhejiang Highway Technician College, and Bu Yan, Vice President of HATI.

Plenary Session: Keynote Speeches

During the keynote session, Dr. Lu Jianzhong, Deputy Director of the Sustainable Development Management Committee of the Chinese Academy of Management Science, delivered a report entitled “Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development of Robotics Organizations.” Addressing the topic from macro‑governance and technology ethics perspectives, he emphasized that the robotics industry must look beyond technological innovation. Rather, it constitutes profound social practice, requiring industry organizations, enterprises, and academic institutions to collectively assume broad social responsibilities.

Managing Director of Silicon Valley Robotics and Secretary-General of IARA, Andra Keay, delivered a speech titled “Latest Developments in Robotics from Silicon Valley and the United States.” She provided attendees with cutting-edge insights and emphasized that the Alliance’s mission is precisely to foster global collaboration. She stated that the key to building a “Silicon Valley-style” innovation ecosystem lies in the organic integration of elements such as scientific research, investment, and technology through platforms like industry associations and international conferences, thereby building bridges for cross-sector collaboration.

Oliver Tian, Honorary Advisor of the Asia Pacific Assistive Robotics Association and Vice Chairman of IARA, together with Ren Yutong, Executive President of the Guangdong Robotics Association, jointly delivered a keynote presentation titled “Sharing Successful Cases of International Robotics Association Collaboration.” Their presentation provided a comprehensive and in-depth examination of several critical issues in the development of the global robotics industry.

The Third International Robotics Association Leaders’ Summit featured four parallel sessions alongside the plenary.
